Système TANDEM

System description

The IRC Master Slave system allows the simultaneous control and command of two (or more) mobile handling equipments (for instance two overhead cranes) with one single transmitter. This will enable the transport of heavy, longs, and bulky loads in a total security. Thanks to the bidirectional option, system provides also the management of the position limit switches, in order to control the position, as well acceleration or deceleration of the handling system, giving a real coupling in all aspects of security.

This application enables the control of a handling system which one includes two cranes (or more) with one operator, which represents a significant manpower cost reduction.

Specification

Operating stand alone :

Either master overhead crane control by transmitter master transmitter.
Or overhead slave crane control by transmitter slave.
For this operating mode, cranes are independent and are working on two separate frequencies.

Operating master salve or tandem mode :

Require transmitter slave switch off.
The transmitter master started in activated tandem mode (this mode will be active trough operating a security but simple push bottom code, when starting the master transmitter), thus staying clear from any accident operation or unintentional activation.
With this operating mode, the two handling equipment are driven and control by the master transmitter.
The master transmitter is foreseen with one selector 1, 1+2, 2 which one permits the selection of the crane which is supposed to be the master (1), or the slave(2), or both together(1+2).
The working frequency is then only choice for the two cranes and is the master frequency.
The activation of the slave crane by the two transmitters simultaneously is impossible.

Options

The system could be advantageously extended with the option bidirectional which one allows a dialog between the two overhead cranes receiver and the master transmitter and eventually between transmitters themselves.
In this case signals from position crane limit switches (which ones allows to proceed to the position of the crane) can be transmitted to the receiver of the other crane and vice versa for the other overhead crane.

This function allows for instance to stop the translation of the two cranes in coupled mode when one of the overhead crane will reach the first limit switch.
The system can be also coupled with the load cells sensors limit switch.

With this option of two mobile equipment, or overhead crane, are logical coupled in order to be controlled as one unit, and in a total security.

Tremendous reduction of manpower, one operator can replace two and it will improve the security. High level of security.

The system can be optionally extended with our TCA27 system recognition of the transmitter, which one avoids the use of wrong transmitter of the wrong crane.
